Samurai Darth
$19.99
Many have claimed that the signature “look” and “feel” of the Star Wars movies has been largely influenced by the Japanese culture. One of most prominent figures in the Star Wars films is, of course, Darth Vader. For me, Vader’s distinctive kabuto, or “helmet”, evokes strong echos of the legendary Samurai.
This piece was inspired by The Vader Project, in which countless helmets were customized according to the whim of the contributing artist. I remembered seeing one with a bushy horsehair moustache and definate Samurai stylings. It was fantastic.
This is my vision of a Samurai Darth.
The Japanese lettering, (kanji), at the top reads “Star” and “War”.
The kanji at the bottom reads “becoming darkness”.
